Over the past decade, negative changes have been observed in people’s mental and emotional well-being across the world. According to the report “World Emotional Health Report 2025”, feelings of anxiety, stress, anger, and sadness have significantly increased among people.
According to the report, compared to 2024, the following changes were recorded in 2025:
- Physical pain — increased by 32%
- Sadness — remained unchanged at 26%
- Anger — remained unchanged at 22%
Anxiety levels have slightly decreased, returning to pre-pandemic levels. However, they still remain 5% higher than in 2014.
It is noted that in countries suffering from wars, economic instability, or political conflicts, the level of negative emotions is significantly higher. In such regions, a large part of the population experiences constant stress, a loss of security, and hopelessness about the future.
According to psychologists, these factors lead to chronic emotional pain, fatigue, and a decrease in motivation.
The study also found that women experience higher levels of anxiety, sadness, and physical pain compared to men. Experts attribute this to social pressure, family responsibilities, and financial difficulties.
Psychologists recommend the following steps to maintain mental health:
- Spend 15–20 minutes daily in peace and practice meditation
- Strengthen communication with close ones
- Increase physical activity
- Limit time spent on social media
- Seek professional help from a psychologist or therapist if necessary
Globally, emotional well-being is becoming an increasingly important issue. The rise in emotional distress over the past decade serves as a serious warning signal for societies. Experts emphasize the need to pay more attention to mental well-being in education, workplaces, and families to reduce this growing problem.
