If Alzheimer's disease was mostly common in Europe 30 years ago, unfortunately, it is now becoming more prevalent in Uzbekistan as well.
Alzheimer's disease is most commonly seen after the age of 60. It is characterized by:
gradual memory decline;
impaired thinking;
failure to recognize familiar people, for example, mistaking one’s own daughter for a “neighbor”;
getting lost when going outside;
confusion between right and left;
staying silent all day.
This disease manifests as a progressive narrowing and decline of all higher mental functions of a person, along with severe brain atrophy detected on MRI.
